Try the original whole natto made with Japanese soybeans. Natto is a traditional Japanese food made by fermenting soybeans with Bacillus subtilis. For more than 1000 years, Japanese people have eaten natto for supporting health and longevity.

Even if natto is a superfood loaded with nutrients and probiotics, its slimy texture and pungent smell make it difficult to eat with other foods. Sonomono solved this problem by freeze-drying and powdering natto. The freeze-drying preserves all the nutritional value of natto and allows the efficient intake of natto bacteria that reach the intestines alive.

The quality of natto starts from the soy itself, we solely use non-GMO Japanese soybeans, cultivated without chemical pesticides or fertilizers by the Kohoku Town Organic Study Group in Saga Prefecture.

We have two types of natto powder; “regular and mild.” Both are convenient for baby food and long-term care food because, compared to raw natto, our fine powder is easy to chew and swallow. The probiotic Bacillus subtilis grows naturally on rice straws. One of its survival mechanisms in hostile environments is forming spores. A spore is a resistant shell able to stand in hot water at 100 degrees for more than 10 minutes and survive in vacuum and acid environments. This natural shield allows B. subtilis to pass through the gastric acid and reach the intestines alive.

The Bacillus subtilis (probiotics) of our natto powder are in spore form, making them resistant to heat (100°C), UV radiation, and acidity. Produced through cutting-edge technology, each serving of Sonomono natto powder contains hundreds of times more probiotics than raw natto, making it a highly effective probiotic food.

As you age, the balance of gut bacteria becomes significantly disrupted.

In babies, the gut is initially filled with Bifidobacteria shortly after birth, but as they begin to eat solid food, the composition of gut bacteria changes.
